VHHS COVID-19 update - 21 July 2021

Dear Families

Today staff have been working to plan for learning at home for all students years 8-12.

To support this program of learning we ask that you access the Teaching and Learning Guide with July lockdown updates for staff contacts and timetable arrangements, all available on our website

Note: online lessons begin Thursday morning.

All students need to check Daymap to ensure they are aware of learning arrangements and expectations. Staff will continue to communicate with students and families via Daymap.

Please ensure you contact your students House Teacher if you are experiencing any difficulties.

Keep safe and stay connected

COVID-19 parent letter - 20 July 2021

Dear families

Today the Premier announced a 7-day state-wide lockdown starting at 6.00pm tonight (Tuesday 20 July).

Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school. A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for tomorrow. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them.

All students have been asked to take home laptops/devices, books and anything else they need to continue their learning from home.

All students will be offered an online learning program from Thursday 22 July 2021. More information on learning programs will be provided later this week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions.

All South Australians are making sacrifices to ensure our community remains as safe as possible. We appreciate that this is a significant undertaking for you and your family.  Your child’s teacher, our support staff and I are here to support you where we can.

 Regards

Amanda O’Shea, Principal

Final update of Possible breach of COVID-19 restrictions

Dear families

All students have now been collected by their caregivers, and will await further information from SA Health.

I would like to thank the students, staff, parents and wider school community for the way they have handled today’s event.

Your calm and supportive approach, combined with quick response from SAPOL and SA Health enabled this situation to be managed with limited disruption to the majority of our school community.

Student and families directly affected receive a special thanks, and we hope to see them return to us again soon.

Regards,

Adie Conley - Deputy Principal VHHS
