ActNow Theatre Company Performance

ActNow Theatre Company will deliver an interactive Anti-bullying program to Year 8 and 9 students, explicitly related to homophobia and founded in Australia’s Federal and State Anti-Discrimination Laws and DECD School policies.

The main themes of the ACTNow Theatre performance related to the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS:CPC) are:

The right to be safe:

  • safety and risk taking, warning signs and emergencies

Relationships

  • bullying as an abuse of power

Recognising and reporting abuse

  • recognizing abuse, identifying abuse

Protective strategies

  • problem solving strategies, and community support

The KS:CPC fits primarily within the Health and Physical Education learning area of the Australian Curriculum but can also be incorporated across other Learning Areas.
