Science is Strong at Victor Harbor High School
/Samuel Bryne has blitzed the field by being selected to attend the National Youth Science Forum in 2014. Samuel was chosen from a field of 1300 applicants. Samuel's nomination was the result of a very comprehensive evaluation process. Samuel will have hands on experiences in quantum physics, climate change, marine science, surgery, engineering and much more. He will also be meeting and talking with leaders from the scientific world. Samuel can also expect onsite visits to the CSIRO's Division of Ecosystem Sciences, the Tidbinbilla Deep Space Network, Australian Institute of Sport, HMAS Stirling and the Perth Seawater desalination plant. Fossil digs and the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Authority are also on the agenda.
Rotary Clubs around Australia support the National Science forum thereby enabling selected students to travel to Canberra or Perth. Victor Harbor High School acknowledges the support received from the local Rotary Club of Victor Harbor and looks forward to its continuing partnership.
Victor Harbor High School is very proud of Samuel's achievement and we also congratulate Science teacher Rosalie Eckert for her inspiring teaching.
Until next time .....
