Aboriginal Power Cup Carnival

Recently Victor Harbor High School SAASTA (South Australian Aboriginal Secondary Training Academy) students attended the 3 day Aboriginal Power Cup Carnival, hosted by the Port Adelaide Football Cup.

Students have to earn the right to participate in the carnival achieving a high level of attendance and academic success throughout the year both in mainstream subjects and SAASTA studies of integrated learning and Aboriginal Studies. VHHS students played in 10 matches of football over the period of the carnival which was supported by Port Adelaide players past and present including; Russell Ebert, Patrick Ryder, Sam Powell-Pepper and Joel Garner. 

 The carnival was concluded with an awards ceremony hosted by comedian Kevin Kropinyeri and Port Adelaide President and channel 7 personality David Koch.

 The highlight for students for the week was performing the pre-game entertainment for the Power vs Geelong match on the Saturday night where students participated in a cultural dance in recognition of the AFL's Indigenous Round.
