2023 VHHS Governing Council welcome to 2023
/Hello parents, caregivers and friends of VHHS
I would like to extend a sincere welcome to all parents/caregivers of students new to the school.
I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate those that completed their schooling in 2022. Completing 12/13 years of school is a big task, so well done. Extra congratulations for those who attained their SACE, and I acknowledge that the SACE completion rate was 96.39%. The highest ATAR being 96.1, 5 merits were awarded across the cohort. I am without a doubt that the support of parents/caregivers helped the students work with the school/staff to obtain this great result.
As we informed parents/caregivers last year the Governing Council is reviewing several school policies and working with the school to develop and implement new policies. This is an important task as these policies have impact on all at the site. This year the Department has introduced a ‘mobile phone policy’. This will have an enormous impact on the day-to-day activities at the school. At the time of me writing this, the Governing Council has not been sent a copy, therefore discussion and implementation will need to take several meetings; in order to ensure we have parent input/support. Please feel free to contact parent representatives on the Council if you would like to have input. If you prefer you can contact me via the school. Simply email me, via dl.0799.govcouncil@schools.sa.edu.au Mark the email ‘Attention Governing Council Chairperson’ or ‘Attention Phil Boyle’.
The Governing Council is always happy to welcome interested parents to meetings (held twice a term), and obviously would welcome new members, who can nominate at the AGM.
The AGM will be 15 March 2023, at the school.
The entire Governing Council looks forward to another successful year and hope that all students and families will make the most of the opportunities that VHHS offer.
Phil Boyle
Chairperson – VHHS Governing Council
